New: Microway® NumberSmasher™ Dense Clusters with Xeon® E5 Processors

Microway's NumberSmasher Clusters integrate the latest Sandy-Bridge architecture Xeon E5-2600 and E5-4600 Series CPUs. Our years of Linux cluster sales and integration expertise ensure your cluster arrives with superior performance and cooling compared to competing hardware.

NumberSmasher 2U Twin2 servers include four dual-processor compute nodes totaling 64 total cores per 2U. Effectively doubling rack capacity, each motherboard features two 8-core Intel Xeons, up to 512GB of DDR3 1600Mhz memory, FDR InfiniBand and Gigabit Ethernet, robust cooling, and ample storage. This packaging achieves a density of 1280 cores in a standard 42U cabinet.

Microway also offers standard 1U nodes with a density of 16 cores per 1U. These systems feature two 8-core Intel Xeons, up to 512GB of DDR3 1600Mhz memory, FDR InfiniBand and Gigabit Ethernet. Up to 640 cores can be achieved in a cabinet of NumberSmasher 1U nodes. Customers requiring increased storage or I/O may choose 2U or 4U nodes with reduced cabinet density.

Finally, NumberSmasher QuadPuter 4P nodes offer Xeon E5-4600 series CPUs in 1U-4U form factors. These systems include up to 32 cores, 1024GB of DDR3 memory, FDR InfiniBand and Gigabit Ethernet. They scale from clusters of small node counts to entire cabinets.

Installed Software
Microway NumberSmasher Clusters come preinstalled with:

  • Linux distribution of your choice, including Red Hat, SUSE, Debian, and Fedora
  • Microway Cluster Management Software (MCMS) integrated with optional MPI Link-Checker Fabric Validation Suite and InfiniScope Real-Time Network Diagnostics.
  • GNU Compilers
