Microway to Offer World’s First Deep Learning Supercomputer, the NVIDIA DGX-1 Deep Learning System

PLYMOUTH, MA — April 19, 2016

Microway is proud to announce that it is accepting orders for the new NVIDIA® DGX-1™, the world’s first deep learning supercomputer designed to meet the unlimited computing demands of artificial intelligence.

Microway, an innovator in High Performance Computing since 1982, has extensive experience supporting deep learning and artificial intelligence solutions. The NVIDIA DGX-1 system furthers these efforts and complements our extensive HPC product portfolio. Microway has received significant interest and expects the DGX-1 system to be an essential solution for users seeking best-in-class performance for training deep neural networks.

The NVIDIA DGX-1 is a fully integrated system with deep learning software and development tools for quick, easy deployment. It contains eight NVIDIA Pascal™-architecture based Tesla® P100 GPUs with a combined 128GB of high-bandwidth GPU memory, 512GB of system memory, and 7.68TB of high-speed SSD-based cache, and features the NVIDIA NVLink™ high-speed interconnect technology. With up to 170 teraflops of half-precision peak performance, the DGX-1 delivers the equivalent throughput of 250 x86 servers.

Users can depend on Microway’s expertise to seamlessly integrate this solution with their existing infrastructure. Employing Ubuntu® Linux and pre-built Docker™ containers with GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks, the 3U system arrives ready-to-run. Full details are available on Microway’s website.

“Researchers will be able to rapidly train extremely large, deep neural networks. A training process that could take 150 hours on a CPU-based system can now be achieved in as little as two hours on the DGX-1 system,” said Stephen Fried, Founder and CTO of Microway.
“Users of computationally intensive applications including astrophysics, quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, geophysics, defense and intelligence will also find the DGX-1 system to be a compelling platform,” he added.

Microway is taking orders for the NVIDIA DGX-1 system for deliveries starting in June.
