AMD offerings include dual, quad, and 8 processor configurations, utilizing 64-bit quad- and dual-core Opteron™ processors and up to 32GB of DDR2-667 memory. Key AMD Opteron processor innovations include an integrated memory controller, which reduces memory bottlenecks, and HyperTransport™ technology, which increases overall performance by removing or reducing I/O bottlenecks, increasing bandwidth and reducing latency.
Your
choice of Intel® processor configurations
ranges from 3.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 processors
to 3.2 GHz Intel® Xeon® processors.
Depending upon your needs, you can purchase up to 4 processors
on a single motherboard, as well as integrated AGP, SCSI
Ultra 3, SATA, Video, Ethernet, and Sound Cards. The Intel®
motherboards have bus speeds of up to 800Mhz.
For cluster configurations, Microway offers high-speed interconnects, including Myrinet, InfiniBand and Gigabit Ethernet for fine and coarse grain parallel applications.
