Microway's silent WhisperStation™-RPU employs a dual socket motherboard populated with one dual core Opteron processor and one FPGA coprocessor: DRC's RPU (Reconfigurable Processor Unit). The RPU provides direct access to DDR memory and adjacent processors at HTX speeds and latencies plus very high integer and floating point throughput.

Microway offers RPUs in the WhisperStation™-RPU silent tower chassis, the QuadPuter™-RPU 4U rackmount chassis, and the Navion™-RPU 1U rackmount chassis.

Designed from the ground up for ultimate customer satisfaction, the WhisperStation-RPU configuration features ultra-quiet fans, internal sound-proofing, one dual core AMD Opteron processor, one DRC RPU, an NVIDIA™ PCI Express Graphics engine, 8GB memory, and a Viewsonic™ 20" LCD monitor.

WhisperStation™-RPU is available with any 64-bit Linux operating system. It can be custom configured to exact user specifications, including large hard disks, RAID, Lustre and PGI compilers.
