Microway Announces Launch of High Performance
NumberSmasher®-32 Servers and Clusters Based on Intel® Xeon ™
Processors at 3.2 GHz with 2 MB Cache.
Plymouth, MA (February 18, 2004) - Microway, a leading manufacturer of HPC
Linux Beowulf clusters, announced the NumberSmasher®-32 family
of clusters and servers, based on 3.2 GHz, 2 MB Cache Intel®
Xeon® processors. The 3.2 GHz Xeon™ delivers the best
32-bit performance available today.
By combining Intel® Xeon™ processors, Intel's Software
Development Tools, and proprietary CoolRack™ chassis, Microway
offers users a robust and scalable platform and software for high-end
servers and Beowulf clusters. All Microway Intel® Xeon®
based products can be custom configured with Linux, Windows 2000, or
NT plus Myrinet connectivity and RAID.

clusters include dual processor, 1U CoolRack™ or tower
configurations with up to 16 GB of memory. Microway also offers
NumberSmasher®-64 dual and quad Intel® Itanium® 2
configurations in 1U, 2U or 4U rack chassis, with up to 32 GB of
memory and multiple PCI-X slots.
Microway's proprietary NodeWatch™/MCMS™; cluster monitoring and
management tools are available on NumberSmasher®-32 based
clusters. With NodeWatch™/MCMS™ administrators have a
cluster-wide view allowing remote, active management based on
resource utilization and environmental factors. The company
