This cluster is configured with Microway's unique 4U RuggedRack which holds a dual-processor 21264DP motherboard, required peripherals and redundant power supplies for minimum space requirements and maximum cost savings.

This system uses a 6 port crossbar switch chipset to connect dual CPUs, dual memory systems, and dual PCI busses. The 8 D-chips used in the crossbar on the 264DP provide an effective databus width of 512 bits and an upper memory capacity of 4GB. For reference purposes, the UP2000 and the XP1000 each use 4 D-chips, have an effective memory bus width of 256 bits, and a maximum of 2GB memory capacity. The 264 is the correct solution for problems which are working with large vectors or require a large amount of memory.
