The Quad Navion™ is a 4 way server using Quad or Six-Core AMD™ Opteron™ 8000 processors with clock speeds up to 2.7 GHz. Its 32 DIMM slots support up to 256GB of memory in a single system using 8GB DIMMs! Excellent power distribution is provided by a 1200 Watt high-efficency redundant power supply.

The Quad Navion platform brings "Quadputing" to compute-intensive SMP and MPI applications at very affordable pricing. Microway's 2U server follows the tradition of ultimately cooled designs, while still packing the power needed to perform the most demanding HPC applications. Whether used as a stand alone server or part of an even more impressive multinode NUMA cluster, the Quad Navion is the new SMP server for the scientific and enterprise communities.

What does 4-way SMP do for you? It lowers interprocessor latency while increasing bandwidth, thereby improving the performance of fine grain parallel applications running with MPI or Open MP.
